About Us

During its 100-year history, the Institute has changed and developed dynamically. It began as a research site for ornamental horticulture on the estate of Count Arnošt Emanuel Silva Tarouca, and, today, is a scientific institution that deals primarily with the natural environment, ecology, and mapping the interaction between nature and people.
